Key Issues

The schools in our district are a work in progress. If our children are important to us, we will dedicate more resources to making sure they can work and function at a high level. As Assemblywoman, Rodneyse Bichotte is committed to see that every school in our district has the resources it needs to provide quality education to each child. Our office pledges to work to bring more afterschool initiatives to our schools and even community centers.

For too long rental and management companies have thought that they can get over on the tenants of the 42nd Assembly District. Our office is committed to alerting tenants as to who they are, and, if need be, pursue legal action against them. We will work with management companies who abide by the law to create more affordable housing opportunities for our residents.

Our office will work at the state level and with elected officials, businesses, non-profits and community based organizations, across this city to provide educational, and job training seminars, especially for our young people, who are eager to work, but need a little bit more help and resources in landing a job. We must be committed to more than landing jobs. Businesses must pay their workers a fair and livable wage.

Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte is committed to working towards passing sensible immigration reform that gives young immigrant dreamers the possibility of life in the United States without fear of deportation.  When we welcome immigrants into our communities we strengthen the cultural fabric of our nation.  Our office is committed to connecting immigrant residents to the resources they need to survive and thrive.

We will work to facilitate a healing process between the NYPD and residents to establish a mutual relationship based on trust to initiate a healing process. Our office will work with local police precincts to ensure that they are pursuing a community based and sensitive approach.
